So it begins... - Salvador Mercer

So it begins…

Hello and welcome to author Salvador Mercer’s website and blog.  After four years of independently publishing works, I have moved my author platform website from a clunky, simple construct to this professionally modeled and more interactive WordPress site with the assistance of GoCreate.me.  Having set this small corner of the internet for the use of me and my readers, I intend to have a small presence where those interested in my works can visit and stay up to date on my latest progress.

In addition, being a sentimental, middle aged man, I’m primarily blogging and updating for posterity’s sake.  I have no illusions as to my status and fame in the world of writers, minuscule to say the least, but I am passionate about history and having something to show for my life when I’m long gone has been a primary motivation for me in taking the time to write the stories that I loved to dream up as a child and young adult.  I am, first and foremost, a reader and only after nearly half a century of reading have I found the courage to put my own stories to words and share with my fellow aficionados.  While my family watched shows such as Charlie’s Angels, The Love Boat, Three’s Company, The Dukes of Hazzard and Happy Days, I spent my time reading Tolkien, McCaffrey, Donaldson, Asimov, Burroughs, King and later Crichton and Clancy.

As noted, I write and read Speculative Fiction (Sci-Fi & Fantasy) and my other passionate genre is not just Thrillers, but specifically Technothrillers.  It isn’t easy to write in two genres, much less three, but they are my passion and I have stories for each one.  Unfortunately, it takes a long time to put words on paper so to speak.  If you share my passion for these stories then feel free to bookmark my site and join my mailing list to stay current on news and updates when they happen.  My greatest joy has been interacting with my readers and knowing that for some of you, I have been able to provide several hours of joy and excitement.

So pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, and feel free to enter my realm.  May it be both kind and enjoyable for you.

Regards,

Salvador Mercer
